In an attempt to row across the Atlantic - in one of the toughest races on earth - Max Thorpe was struck by a devastating rogue wave. The events that followed are widely regarded as some of the most perilous in the history of ocean sport. Undeterred, he returned just two years later to win the race and set a new world record.
