Growing up in a poor Yiddish speaking home in 1950s London, Lillian – then just a teenager, marries charming older man Raymond. One day he takes their children to the local park. But he never returns.

When they reappear 40 years later, the search for the truth begins.

Unfolding like a mystery, we follow Danny Ben-Moshe and his eccentric Jewish family as they unearth secrets, attempt to reconcile, and hear shocking news that sheds a new light on events.

This series builds upon the story from Danny's award-winning documentary film My Mother's Lost Children.

My heart went out to the young mother, who felt no control, and to the children, tossed ok n the wind.

Heartachingly real and so distressing

This story was so sweet and sorrowful. The honesty was painful and healing. I’ve been able to process some of my family of origin pain through this podcast. I feel love for this family. Thank you

Raymond was an *incredibly* narcissistic, evil man. Period. He physically abused his wife Amanda. Would rather have heard all of that stated bluntly, instead of all the wishy washy "finding positive things" or giving the benefit of the doubt.

Well done..but never calls Raymond what he was

very possibly the best podcast i’ve heard (and i never stop listening to them). incredible, heartfelt story; tender and nimble interviews; *extremely* high production value (think This American Life)—just the absolute best of the best. definitely too enrapturing to listen to during any task that requires concentration—10/10 a dishes / walking the dog / Any Rote Task podcast.

one of those stories that keeps pieces of your heart for itself, & that you go back to, every now & then, to visit.

(also, i’m a mental health professional & can’t stop laughing at the Ativan-obsessed reviewer. 😂. dude. if you need to critique something THAT badly, take a nap.)

✨⭐️the perfect podcast⭐️✨

This was a fantastic story and utterly captured my attention. I appreciated how the writer not only uncovered the past, but was able to demonstrate how those threads wove together to create the tapestry of the present and how one action reverberated to affect so many in this family and beyond.

good
