• Ayurvedic Psychology: The 16 Personality Types of Sattva, Rajas, and Tamas with Freedom Cole
    Mar 23 2026

Today’s episode is one that feels especially relevant to the world we’re living in right now. We’re diving into the intersection of Ayurvedic psychology and modern personality frameworks, exploring how the ancient wisdom of the gunas can be understood through the lens of the 16 classical personality types.

Sasha is joined by Freedom Cole, our first-ever two-time guest on the show. Together, they unpack how the subtle subdivisions of sattva, rajas, and tamas don’t just live within us individually, but actively shape how we think, communicate, and show up in the modern social media landscape.

Sasha and Freedom explore how these personality patterns are playing out in real time, and the way we relate to one another in an increasingly polarized world.

If you’re a practitioner, this episode will give you a more nuanced way to understand your clients. And if you’re simply trying to make sense of human behavior right now, this will offer a grounding, Ayurvedic lens to do just that.

  • The Pancha Kleshas: 5 Obstacles to Inner Peace
    Mar 16 2026

Sasha and Erin dive into a foundational teaching from Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras: the Pancha Kleshas—five root obstacles that block our inner peace and keep us trapped in suffering.

    These five kleshas are:

    1. Avidya, or ignorance, the root misperception that keeps us from seeing reality clearly.
    2. Asmita, egoism, our over-identification with ‘I’ and our roles in the world.
    3. Raga, attachment, the clinging to pleasure that creates endless desire and intense feelings that drive unconscious, reactive actions which in turn produce karmas.
    4. Dvesha, aversion or hatred of suffering, the push against pain and discomfort that fuels reactivity.
    5. Abhinivesha, the instinctive fear of death and clinging to life itself, which underlies so much of our anxiety.

These kleshas produce duhkha (suffering) and bind the mind to cycles of desire and aversion. In other words, creating patterns and/or addictions that are hard to break.

Yoga’s purpose is to weaken and dissolve the kleshas, leading to clarity, peace, and liberation.

We explore how these kleshas show up in our daily lives, how they influence our relationships, health, and choices, and what practical tools from yoga and Ayurveda can help us recognize, release, and ultimately dissolve these mental obstacles.

  • The Healing Power of Group Chanting: Mantra, Devotion, and Community with Snatam Kaur
    Mar 9 2026

Snatam Kaur is a world-renowned, Grammy-nominated devotional singer, touring musician, teacher, and author known for her luminous voice and deeply embodied teachings. For decades, she has carried the ancient practice of mantra and sacred sound into modern spaces — helping audiences around the world experience the healing power of devotional music.

In a world saturated with noise and isolation, many of us are longing for real connection. One of the most powerful and ancient ways we remember that connection is through chanting together.

Group chanting is more than singing. It is shared breath. Shared rhythm. Shared vibration. When voices rise together, something shifts. Separation softens. The nervous system settles. The heart opens.

In this conversation, Snatam and Sasha explore why chanting in community is such potent medicine, how mantra works whether we understand the words or not, why singing together dissolves loneliness, and how devotional practice creates a sacred space where healing naturally unfolds.

If you’re curious about the science and spirituality of mantra meditation, the healing intelligence of sacred sound, or how singing together can restore connection to yourself and to each other, this episode is for you.

  • The Real Root Cause of Disease: An Ayurvedic Perspective
    Mar 2 2026

Today, Sasha and Erin dive into the root causes of disease, as described in Ayurveda.

In classical Ayurveda, disease is never random. At the deepest level, it arises when we forget our true nature as spirit, identifying with the ego instead of our inherent consciousness.

Subsequently, there are three primary root causes:

    1. Parinama – the process of natural transformation and change.

Parinama is the understanding that everything in life — our body, mind, and environment — is in constant motion. This includes the passage of time, the cycles of energy in our body, and the “drama” of life itself — the events, relationships, and stresses that stir the mind. When we resist change, cling to outcomes, or identify with transient experiences, these forces accumulate as tension, aging, and ultimately disease. Parinama reminds us that disease can arise when we fail to flow with change, instead binding ourselves to patterns of reaction, attachment, or ego.

    2. Prajnaparadha – the mistake of the intellect.

This happens when our discernment is clouded, and we act against our own well-being. It’s not ignorance, but lapses in wisdom that create imbalance — like eating, thinking, or acting in ways that disrupt our natural rhythms.

    3. Asatmendriyartha Samyoga – the misuse of the senses.

When we overindulge, neglect, or misuse sensory input — taste, sight, sound, touch, or smell — we disconnect from our inner rhythm. This leads to physical and mental imbalance and eventually manifests as disease.

Sasha and Erin unpack each of these root causes whilst sharing personal anecdotes, and exploring practical ways to apply this knowledge and increase ease in mind, body, and spirit.

  • Sacred Sexuality Series: Sexual Mastery with Ben Timby
    Feb 23 2026

In Ayurveda, sex is not taboo: it is one of the three pillars of life, alongside food and sleep. When honored consciously, sexual energy builds vitality, creativity, immunity, and longevity. But when overstimulated or misused, it depletes ojas — our most refined vital essence responsible for resilience, radiance, and spiritual strength.

In today’s hypersexualized digital culture, pornography has become one of the most powerful yet unspoken forces shaping modern intimacy. While often normalized, porn addiction is quietly limiting men’s emotional depth, nervous system regulation, spiritual connection, and capacity for embodied, conscious sex. But the impact doesn’t stop there. It affects women, relationships, and the collective field of intimacy, pulling us out of embodiment and into reenactment.

Instead of experiencing sacred sexuality as a living, breathing current of life force energy, many couples find themselves unconsciously replaying scripts learned from screens. Performance replaces presence. Stimulation replaces sensation. Disconnection replaces devotion.

In this powerful episode, Sasha sits with Ben Timby, transformational coach, spiritual guide, and founder of Men’s Sexual Mastery.

Drawing from Tantric and Taoist sexual alchemy practices, along with modern behavioral neuroscience and psychology, Ben guides men in reclaiming their sexual energy as a sacred force for healing, vitality, and spiritual awakening.

We explore how reclaiming sexual energy as life force, rather than consumption, restores vitality, strengthens relationships, and creates a healthier template of intimacy for future generations.

If you’ve ever felt the quiet grief of what intimacy could be..

If you’ve sensed that sexuality holds untapped spiritual power…

If you believe that healing men’s sexuality is central to healing our culture…this episode is for you.

  • How to Be Okay When You’re Not Okay: Ayurveda, Grief & Coping with Loss
    Feb 16 2026

How do you cope with grief when life doesn’t feel okay?

What does Ayurveda say about loss, impermanence, and the pain that leaves holes in our hearts?

In this deeply personal episode of Ojas Oasis, we explore how to be okay when you’re not okay. Through the lens of Ayurvedic wisdom and spiritual reflection, Sasha holds space for grief, heartbreak, and the disorienting reality of impermanence.

When we lose someone, whether through death, separation, or life changing unexpectedly, it can feel physical. Like the ground has disappeared beneath us. Ayurveda teaches that grief impacts the heart, the nervous system, and our sense of safety. Rather than bypassing pain or forcing positivity, this episode invites you to sit with it.

Inspired by the spiritual reflections of James van der Beek on life, death, and presence, this conversation explores:

    • How to cope with grief and loss
    • The Ayurvedic understanding of impermanence
    • Why emotional pain can feel physical
    • Holding compassionate space for yourself
    • Grief as fragmentation and transformation
    • Spiritual perspectives on death and dying

If you are navigating loss, heartbreak, or existential sadness, may this episode serve as a compassionate witness. You do not need to make sense of your pain. You do not need to rush your healing. You are allowed to not be okay.

Grief can fragment us toward destruction, or toward deeper love and wisdom.

This is an invitation to stay soft. To stay human. To stay together.

  • From Vision to Reality: Building an Ayurveda Clinic in Austin
    Feb 9 2026

Welcome to Season 8 of Ojas Oasis.

"This season begins with a life update that feels less like a chapter and more like a quantum leap. I’ve moved to Austin, Texas, and the past few months have been nothing short of magic—an intricate web of synchronicities unfolding at a pace that has stretched time itself. Some days have felt like entire lifetimes, shaped by tectonic inner and outer shifts happening at lightning speed.

There were moments where the velocity felt almost too much, until I remembered who I am, why I’m here, and what I’m devoted to. When I remember that this path is Dharma, and that it is walked in devotional love, everything recalibrates. The body softens. The nervous system exhales. Even rest becomes an initiation.

This journey of building an Ayurveda clinic from vision to reality has been a sacred dance between action and surrender, between my fiery Pitta drive and a deep return to the Divine Feminine. And there are three pillars that have carried me here.

First and foremost: my devotion to The Divine and to the Dharma entrusted to me. When you are asked to carry a sacred torch, there is no alternative path—only service, only integrity, only forward motion in love.

Second: my friendships and community. My heart overflows when I think of the people who have nourished me, believed in me, and expanded my capacity simply by standing beside me. No poem could ever capture my gratitude—so instead, I choose to live it. A life as poetry. Gratitude expressed in motion, and in stillness when needed.

And third: my teachers: those who have walked this path long before me, who initiated me into this lineage, who continue to pray for me as I step into a new level of responsibility and service.

Austin has embraced me with open arms. Casa de Luz, the wellness village where Ojas Oasis has found its physical home, feels less like a location and more like family. It is my great honor to step into the role of Austin’s village Vaidya and to open the doors of Ojas Oasis as a living, breathing space for healing.

I’m so excited to share this journey with you, what it’s taken to bring a soul vision into form, the lessons along the way, and what it truly means to build something rooted in devotion, community, and ancient wisdom.

May The Divine continue to protect and guide our collective healing journey and bless this space." - Sasha

  • Rethinking ADHD: Nervous System Regulation, Trauma and Emotional Regulation with Pen King Jr.
    Feb 2 2026

In today’s conversation, Sasha sits with Pen King Jr., holistic transformation coach, health-tech innovator, and CEO of Bonding Health, to explore a radically different approach to ADHD, focusing on emotional regulation, trauma, and mental health.

Pen is also a dear friend of Sasha's- they met freshman year at Syracuse University in English class. Their connection deepened when she announced she was raising money to run the NYC Marathon for charity. Pen donated $1,000 on the spot, making it possible for Sasha to run the marathon at all. That generosity marked the beginning of an 18+ year friendship rooted in trust, support, and shared values.

Today, Pen is leading a movement that challenges the conventional ADHD model. Rather than overstimulating the brain or defaulting to medication, he shares why slowing the brain down, strengthening neuroplasticity, and rethinking emotional regulation may be the key to lasting healing—for children and adults alike.

    In this conversation, they explore:

    • Why traditional ADHD treatments may be missing the root cause
    • How trauma, stress, and emotional dysregulation shape behavior
    • The science behind calming the nervous system
    • How the Bonding Health app empowers families through warmth, play, and connection
    • Why asking “What is my child communicating?” changes everything

This episode is for parents, educators, health professionals, and anyone curious about holistic mental health, ADHD alternatives, neuroplasticity, and integrative healing.

If you’re ready to move beyond bandaid solutions and explore what true regulation and resilience look like, this conversation will change how you see mental health.

Discover why slowing down might be the fastest path forward.
