In this episode, Perry and Jaime sit down with Aliens: Resurgence director TrisRex to explore his ambitious, labor-of-love fan film set twenty years after the events of James Cameron’s Aliens. What began as an idea during the uncertainty of 2021 evolved into a full-scale production, complete with pandemic challenges, practical builds, and even a Chicago windstorm that literally blew the set away.

A lot has been said—and rightfully so—about Ripley and how important she is to the history of the perception of women in Hollywood stories.

But it's worth noting the many progressive, complex, and well-rendered male characters who also make the Alien series so special.

Whether it's Dallas' steady leadership, Hicks' quiet kindness, or Dillon's redemptive (or is it?) arc, the Alien saga has many male characters worth celebrating.
