  • Cancel Culture in the Pole Industry: The Damage We Don’t See

Cancel culture isn’t just a buzzword — it’s happening inside our own community.

In this episode, we unpack the pile-on mentality that’s quietly shaping the pole world. The divide between strippers and pole dancers. Studios tearing each other down. Online attacks over pricing, opinions, and perceived mistakes.

We’re sharing real, anonymous stories from people who’ve been targeted, silenced, and pushed out — not for doing the wrong thing, but for speaking up.

Because when outrage spreads faster than truth, it’s not about accountability anymore.

It’s about who shouts the loudest.

Featuring Frances, who opens up about an incident, this is a conversation many people won’t want to have — but one that needs to happen.

This episode, we went deep into Instagram and uncovered some of the most talented pole dancers you’ve probably never heard of… yet.

We’re talking pole prodigies — artists with under 10K followers who are delivering next-level lines, strength, creativity, and performance. And the best part? They have no idea we’re about to shout them out 👀

If you’re looking for fresh inspiration, new favourites, or just want to stay ahead of the curve in the pole world — this is your episode.

We also had a surprise drop-in from Maggie, the producer behind the upcoming Australian Pole Championships documentary series, who gave us a little update (and yes, we were very excited).

    Plus, we chat:

    • Throwback tricks (including Elizabeth’s spatchcock era)
    • Creative combos and evolving trick trends
    • What actually makes a pole dancer stand out right now
    • A few unfiltered life tangents… because obviously

Go follow these dancers, hype them up, and remember — you heard it here first.

  • The Red District: From the Clubs to Building a Studio That Actually Gets It
    Mar 4 2026

Trigger Warning: This episode contains discussion of drug and alcohol abuse, violence, and experiences within strip clubs that some listeners may find confronting.

In this episode of Pole Obsession, we sit down with Red, the founder of Canberra’s newest pole studio, The Red District.

Red shares her journey through the club industry and how those experiences ultimately led her to open her own studio. She speaks openly about the realities of working in clubs, from the highs to the darker moments, including stories involving alcohol, theft, and violence that can occur behind the scenes.

We also talk about the moment that pushed her to build something of her own. After running shows and feeling unsupported in a previous studio environment, Red realised that if she wanted a space where dancers from the club industry felt truly welcomed and understood, she would need to create it herself.

The Red District was born from that idea, a studio built with a deeper understanding of the industry and the people who come from it.

This episode explores the many different paths into pole. Not everyone arrives the same way, dancers, performers, athletes, and club industry workers all bring different experiences to the pole community.

A raw and honest conversation about authenticity, creating safe spaces, and building the studio she couldn’t find.
