This week we have a very special episode centered around a local event that benefits Hockey Fights Cancer. We;ve told you in the past the fight goes on past cancer month and now we are backing up what we say. Joining the Mermaid and myself is Al Given who is representing the Haymarket IcePlex where the event is being held. Al himself is both a Veteran and a Cancer survivor who has led a full life; you will love hearing about the event itself and how he got into hockey. Special thanks to Anna's friends Billy and Mike for mentioning the charity event to her.

We then go into the week's games on the ice---Our Caps playoff hopes may be dimming but capturing 5 out of 6 standings points against sometough competition makes for a good week overall.

Well.....Caps management has pulled the trigger. And whatever the desired effect was, the result hasn't been good.

Anna and I go over the two games played which were of course, losses. Anna then gives her take on the departure of both Nic Dowd and John Carlson as well as what the Caps have looked like since. Spoiler alert---kindness got left at the door.

It is good to have Caps hockey back! Even better when they win.....mostly. The Mermaid and I go over all three games. Two wins and one bad loss. We discuss it all.

To begin however we give our props to the Gold Medal winning US Olympic Womens hockey team.

Finally we go over the upcoming schedule as far as the Caps playoff chances as well as what will happen at Friday's Trade Deadline: nothing.

Anna returns from some time off and just in time for one of the more....dramatic weeks for Our Caps. Listen as we recount (after talking about the weather)...the early flat effort early in the week vs. the Kraken....only to overcome massive injuries to earn victories in back to backgames that went beyond regulation.
