As the title suggests, I didn’t start this journey as a willing participant. My husband and I had just started our “second act”, so to speak, as empty nesters. We had relocated and started new career paths on the coast of Virginia when an undiagnosed progressive illness interrupted my life and both our plans. In this time together, I share the frustrations and lessons I’m learning along the way as I navigate the unique challenges of chronic illness.
