Davey ran the cab stand, and La Bella Vista pizzeria for his brother Paulie who was the boss over everybody. Goodfellas aside, Dave is heading to New York for some R & R. A nice little trip to come, and some other crazy things to fall out of his head this time.

Marketing works, so it seems, but so does naiveté. Both sides feel self-righteous, but there can be only one. Dave is currently baffled by how easily someone can be coerced choosing something they didn't really want, but this is nothing new.

Clearly, the election for U.S. President took place and the outcome to many was not favorable, but actually to many it was...strange huh? Marketing seems to run our decision making, and whether we like it or not it's a never ending spigot.

Don't worry, though, there is always hope. It starts with community, relationships, and a good sandwich. Join Dave as he tries to stay middle of the road, seeing as we are all more moderate than we like to think, and pokes fun at the "top-tier" candidates and the elderly buffoons, out there.

Many things are a "state of mind," and for Dave it seems that has becoming sports of every variety. Baseball has reached the post season, and Dave is enjoying the close games. No blowouts...those are boring. Hockey has returned, too!

But, as with everything else, there is no escaping the political landscape. While watching some sports to "get away" for a while, Dave is constantly reminded of the worst time of the year...November (that is if you're in the United States). What Dave really wants to know, who is actually deciding anything based on those dumpy ads?

With a deconstructed cheesesteak for lunch, Dave recounts his weekend at the Renaissance Festival. Not only were there feelings of nostalgia, but an evil ogre emerged from his cave of Hell to endorse the latest "top tier" candidate...and at this point life has become a parody. But, Dave is optimistic. You see, we were fortunate enough to live in a world with James Earl Jones. Knowing that someone like JEJ could exist seems to make things work out in the end. Rest in peace. Ease his pain (Field of Dreams).

The winds of change are shifting, or really we are just entering Fall. As the weather gets cooler, Dave is becoming heated with marketing and promotion of the mediocre. Not to be political, seeing as he knows about as much as the next schmuck...nothing...it's always nice to see the various groups market their less than stellar warm cadaver adjacent figure. But with the slightest recollection, one might be able to catch any of them in a lie. Who really cares? Sometimes a good sandwich or taco soup is the thing needed to get you by.
