She Runs Ultras is about (yup, you guessed it) running ultras. Lots of other running podcasts out there are full of gear & race reviews and interviews with the experts telling unrelatable stories about their record breaking times and super human feats. Now…don’t get me wrong, I’ve learned some great stuff from those podcasts...But what about those of us that aren’t getting paid to do this? Those of us that are mid to back of the pack runners? And those of us that have never won a damn thing? What was out there for us? Yeah, I couldn’t find it - so I decided to make it! And it just so happens that I’m getting geared up to start training for some races in 2021. So throughout this series, I’ll share what really happens when a typical, non-professional runner takes on the challenge of running an ultra. Got some races planned for this year? Let’s train together. From the emotional & physical ups and downs, to the details of my actual training plan, and the excitement (not to mention nerves) that build as race day gets closer...I promise not to hold anything back. So whether you’re already a member of the ultra community or if you’re just ultra curious...Hit subscribe and let’s do this!© 2026 She Runs Ultras Biographies & Memoirs Hygiene & Healthy Living Running & Jogging Social Sciences

  • Ep. 319 - 7 Unconventional Steps To Successful Ultra Training
    Mar 20 2026

When you think about “successful” ultra training…your brain probably goes straight to outcomes.

Finishing. PRs. Going farther than you ever have before.

But here’s the problem…That’s not where success actually lives.

In this episode, I’m breaking down why successful ultra training is process-based not outcome-based and why focusing only on the end result is the fastest way to stall your progress.

    We’ll talk about:

    • Why outcomes (like finishing a race or hitting a time goal) are just moments in time—not the full picture
    • The real, unsexy “wins” that actually drive progress (and why you’re probably overlooking them)
    • How focusing only on mileage can back you into a corner
    • What to do when you hit that inevitable “freak out” moment in training
    • How to build a process that actually works for your life, schedule, and starting point
    • Why consistency, awareness, and small daily actions matter more than any single workout

If you’ve been chasing a goal for a while and feel like you’re not getting anywhere…

This episode will help you zoom out, reset, and start looking at your training in a way that actually leads to progress.

Because at the end of the day:

Process over outcome. Every single time.

  • Ep. 318 - The Fastest Way To Sabotage Your Training
    Mar 13 2026

Have you ever felt like you’re doing all the right things…reading the articles, trying the plans, tweaking your training and yet somehow your progress feels stalled?

In this episode, we’re talking about one of the most common ways runners unknowingly sabotage their training especially in the age of social media and endless online advice.

When you’re not sure what to do, it’s easy to start grabbing ideas from everywhere:
a training plan here, a workout there, a tip from someone in a Facebook group…

Before long you’re trying seven different approaches at once and wondering why nothing seems to be working.

In this episode, I’m sharing a message from a coaching client that perfectly illustrates this trap and why constantly changing plans, piling on more training, or chasing quick reassurance can actually derail your progress.

    We’ll talk about:

    • Why doing more training often makes things worse
    • The hidden downside of following too many plans at once
    • Why most runners abandon a strategy before it ever has time to work
    • How reflection and patience are the real keys to long-term progress

If you’ve been feeling stuck, frustrated, or like your training is a little chaotic lately… this episode will help you take a step back and get refocused.

  • Ep. 317 - 🧚 You Don’t Need Permission to Run an Ultra… But Here It Is Anyway!!
    Mar 6 2026

Somewhere along the way, a lot of women start downplaying their running goals.

    “It’s just a 50K.”
“I mean… there are people running way farther than me.”

In this episode, I’m stepping in as the 🧚 Permission Fairy 🧚 and officially giving you permission to want what you want when it comes to running your first or farthest ultra.

We’ll talk about why so many women hesitate to go after bigger running goals, the subtle ways we minimize our own ambitions, and why giving yourself permission is often the first step toward doing something you didn’t think was possible.

    Permission granted!
