From crying in closets after school and surviving chaotic first-year classroom management, to learning boundaries, routines, and how to stop taking student behavior personally, this episode is packed with stories every educator will recognize.

The trio shares their real experiences navigating everything from preschool bathroom protocols and late-night grading sessions to difficult parents, classroom systems, safe spaces, and the emotional weight teachers carry while still showing up for students. They also dive into the difference between trying to be the "cool teacher" versus becoming the consistent teacher, and why veteran educators know that structure, reflection, and relationships matter more than perfection.

Whether you're a brand-new teacher, a seasoned educator, or just someone who loves funny school stories, this episode is a relatable reminder that teaching gets easier, growth takes time, and no one has it all figured out in year one.

From kindergarten oversharing family secrets to students accidentally exposing their parents' business, this conversation proves that kids truly have no filter. The hosts share some of the funniest real classroom moments, including kids revealing family drama, telling teachers things their parents definitely didn't want repeated, and the awkward situations teachers end up in when students overshare at the worst possible times. They also react to stories from teachers about bizarre show-and-tell moments, confusing absences, and the surprising things kids say about their home lives. Along the way, they talk about parent-teacher conference chaos, students accidentally snitching on their parents, school lunch disasters, and the everyday unpredictability of teaching. Whether it's a kindergartener revealing why their parents are arguing or a student announcing personal family details to the entire class, teachers know that kids will always tell the truth… at the worst possible moment. If you're a teacher, educator, or anyone who's ever worked with kids, this episode will have you laughing, cringing, and saying, "they really said that?!" Listen now & don't forget to subscribe! • The Weirdest Attention Getters Teachers Have Used in Class
    Mar 8 2026
Teacher besties… what's your attention getter? Because in this episode we learned there are levels to this chaos. NOW REMEMBER get your tickets NOW! From "waterfall" to "macaroni and cheese, everybody freeze," to the most dramatic strategies you've ever seen (yes, including fake crying and talking to a filing cabinet), the crew breaks down what actually works when your class is doing the absolute most.

They also get real about the teaching grind: ADHD teacher life, why "I'll wait" doesn't always hit, building relationships before management can work, and how admin can make or break a school. Plus: tour life updates and why you need a laugh break ASAP.

Hey all, I hope this finds you well! I appreciated this episode so much. I taught at a year-round, private school throughout the entire pandemic of March 2020 up until this past September. Our school board made the decision to stay open throughout the pandemic and serve children of first responders that were on the medical frontlines everyday. I taught Pre-k and while the kids were happy to be at school, it was a wild and stressful time. Listening to all of your stories was cathartic to hear since I definitely understood pandemic teaching. I hope all is well, stay safe and healthy! - whitney_barnett

It’s so awesome for you guys to speak out and tell all of the insane things that teachers have to deal with. I never would’ve known about these things before if it weren’t for you guys. This is my favorite podcast and I listen to it ALL the TIME! ♥️♥️♥️ love y’all so much

This is the 1st podcast I've ever listened to & I am NOT disappointed! I found Bree through Reels on Instagram & discovered she was a part of a podcast with other teachers. Although I am not a teacher,I have spent 20+ years in healthcare & the stories are so relatable. People are leaving healthcare for the same reasons they leave teaching..bad pay & bad treatment. Keep up the good work :)
