Becoming what we are: A royal priesthood.

We are called to live out the identity God has already spoken over us. In 2 Peter 2:9 we’re reminded that we are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation — set apart to declare the praises of the One who called us out of darkness into His marvellous light.

This is about stepping into who we already are in Christ. And in that, we carry confidence: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

This Sunday we heard powerful testimonies from our Young Adults about the Awaken Weekend Away. It was so encouraging to see how they came back refreshed, strengthened, and full of faith for what God is doing next. 🙌

Even at the end of his life, David’s story wasn’t about an ending, but about a promise fulfilled.

Through the painful story of David and Absalom, this message explores the lessons of God’s Kingdom revealed in moments of betrayal, loss, and deep sorrow. David’s response to rebellion, broken relationships, and suffering shows us how God shapes His servants, establishes His Kingdom, and remains sovereign even when everything seems to fall apart. In times of pain, God is still teaching, ruling, and fulfilling His purposes.

The story of David and Bathsheba reminds us that the Kingdom of God is not built by perfect people, but by repentant hearts. Even in the midst of sin, guilt, and consequences, God wrote a story of redemption. Where failure seemed to have the final word, grace spoke louder. God does not ignore sin, but turns repentance into restoration and purpose. In His Kingdom, our falls do not define the end.
Redemption defines the future.

Mephibosheth’s story shows us how mercy changes everything. He was living in weakness and obscurity, yet David chose to show him kindness and restore what had been lost. That moment wasn’t about his condition, but about the heart of the king.

In the same way, God meets us with mercy every day. Through Jesus, we see a love that doesn’t turn away from our brokenness, but moves towards it. Christ was willing to give His life so we could be brought close, restored, and welcomed into the life God has for us.
