The Crux of It panel reconvenes to discuss all the recent goings-on at York City Football Club. The team debate the club closing in on a record unbeaten run, the two-horse race with Rochdale, and respond to claims of “lucky” penalties. They also reflect on five years at the LNER Community Stadium, alongside the usual features: YCFC Mastermind and Room 102.

Alex Newby’s first involvement with York City came in the form of a screamer against them—scoring for Chorley at Bootham Crescent. His fondest memory as an opponent peaked with a brace in Altrincham’s 6–1 demolition of the Minstermen in 2024.

Thankfully for York fans, Alex is now plying his trade at the LNER, where 12 goals this season have quickly made him a fan favourite.

Recorded live at the Supporters Trust social event at Brew York, Alex reflects on his career so far—including spells in the Football League—and shares his ambitions for the rest of the season.

York City defender Jeff King sat down for an honest and wide-ranging conversation, reflecting on a career that’s taken him from Bolton Wanderers and St Mirren to becoming a fan favourite at Halifax and Chesterfield.

Now back in the fold at York City following a successful loan spell with Boreham Wood, Jeff discussed his footballing journey, the challenges he’s faced, and what it means to rejoin the Minstermen squad.
