The Great Divide and the Dawn of Humanity's Extinction

People have become too intelligent, or perhaps not so smart, but overthink their existence to the point where they decide to focus heavily on themselves to the detriment of the human race. Inevitably, an excessive focus on self-preservation rather than a collective need could and likely lead to humanity's extinction.
