    At its very core writing is a business and it should be treated as nothing less. It is hard work and naturally you desire to profit from your hard labour. But the fiction industry, according to my friends at The Gotham Writers Workshop, is a feast-or-famine industry, where the famine is much more common than feasting, where, even well-established authors are left to nibble on the scraps.
