• Horseshoe Bend: A Commemoration
    Mar 23 2026

Muscogee Nation Secretary of Culture & Humanities, RaeLynn Butler, and Deputy Secretary, Anthony Beaver, join us in the Pod Cave to discuss the 212th Commemoration of the Battle of Horseshoe Bend.

What happened at Horseshoe Bend back on March 27 of 1814 was a major turning point in our Nation's history. Not only did 800 Muscogee men, women and children perish that day but the aftermath of this battle ignited a ripple effect of events that ultimately lead to our Nation 's forced removal on the "Trail of Tears".
