What if the biggest changes at home didn’t start with a new routine—but with a clearer why?

In Episode 2 of The Paideia Way: Conversations on Whole-Person Education, Dr. Brian Winsor and Mrs. Victoria Jones explore the Principles of Effectiveness and the Inside-Out Approach—the idea that lasting growth in families begins with identity, character, and shared values.

Rather than focusing on quick parenting strategies, this conversation looks at how principle-centered living strengthens family leadership and supports whole-person education from the inside out.

In this episode, you’ll hear:

• Why parenting strategies often fall apart without deeper principles
• The difference between preferences and principles—and why it matters
• How shared family values reduce conflict and bring clarity
• How identity shapes habits, decisions, and family culture

When families are guided by clear principles, daily choices become easier and relationships grow stronger.

The Values Poster

Gather your family and take one sheet of paper.

  1. Around the outside of the page, each family member writes or draws values that matter to them.

  2. As a family, choose three shared values to place in the center.

  3. Under each value, write one simple action that answers:

“In our home, this looks like…”

Post the page somewhere visible and practice living out one of those values this week.

The Paideia Way is a podcast exploring whole-person education and how families and schools can partner to help students grow in body, mind, heart, and spirit.
