• Energy Lockdowns — The Biggest Threat To Canadians Nobody Is Talking About + Jeff Evely Update
    Mar 27 2026

Are energy lockdowns the biggest threat to Canadians and nobody is talking about and Jeff Evely is on the show to give us an update on his case.

What happens if a global energy shock hits — and governments are forced to respond?

Tonight on The Political Orphans, we break down the growing risk of an energy crisis triggered by tensions in the Middle East and the potential disruption of the Strait of Hormuz, one of the most critical oil chokepoints in the world.

If global energy supply is hit, prices surge — and history shows governments don’t just sit back. They step in.

Could Canada face fuel restrictions, rationing, or other “energy lockdown” measures if things escalate?

    We walk through:

    • Why the Strait of Hormuz matters to the global energy supply

    • How a disruption impacts oil, gas, and everyday costs in Canada

    • What government responses could look like if supply shocks worsen

    • Why most Canadians aren’t paying attention

Then, we are joined by Jeff Evely — the man fined $28,000 after a walk in the woods in Nova Scotia.

Jeff shares his story, what happened in his case, and why it matters to Canadians. We also discuss MaydayCanada.ca and what it represents.

Join Nico Lagan and Rob Ambrose as we navigate the wreckage of the Canadian establishment.

  • Is Bill C-22 The Most Dangerous Bill in Canadian History? John Carpay JCCF
    Mar 25 2026

Is Bill C-22 The Most Dangerous Bill in Canadian History? John Carpay JCCF. In this episode John Carpay founder of the Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms breaks down Bill C-22 the Lawful Access Act — the bill that gives the Canadian government secret surveillance powers over every Canadian — and why Bill C-22 may be the most dangerous bill in Canadian history.

Bill C-22 forces telecom and tech companies in Canada to build government surveillance backdoors into their systems. Secret ministerial orders. Gag orders. No warrant. No judicial oversight. No parliamentary debate. The same government that froze bank accounts during the Freedom Convoy now wants secret access to every Canadian's digital life under Bill C-22.

Bill C-9 passed yesterday 188 to 144 moving to third reading and final vote. Can you imagine if Bill C-9 had been law during the Freedom Convoy? Thousands of Canadians arrested for hate speech for waving a flag. And now the Liberal Party wants to ban social media and AI chatbots for Canadians under 16.

Is Bill C-22 about keeping Canadians safe — or is it the infrastructure of a surveillance state?

    Watch and decide for yourself.

  • 153,000 International Student Fraud Cases, 500,000 Overstays — And Nothing Happened
    Mar 24 2026

153,000 International Student Fraud Cases, 500,000 Overstays — And Nothing Happened

Canada’s Auditor General just exposed something that should be impossible to ignore.

More than 153,000 international student visa fraud cases were identified. Only a small number were investigated. And at the same time, over 500,000 people with expired study permits were allowed to remain in Canada.

This isn’t just a policy failure — it raises a much bigger question about whether the system is being enforced at all.

If rules exist but aren’t applied, what does that actually mean for Canadians?

Tonight we break down what the Auditor General’s report reveals, why so many of these cases appear to go untouched, and what this says about how immigration enforcement is being handled in Canada.

We’ll also look at where Bill C-9 stands as it moves through Parliament, a case involving a police visit over a social media post, and new details on the federal government’s firearms compensation program.

Different stories — but they all point to the same issue:

    Where is the accountability?

    Watch and decide for yourself.

  • Government on Trial: Emergencies Act & Gun Ban Head to Supreme Court | Eddie Cornell + Tracey Wilson
    Mar 20 2026

Government on Trial: Emergencies Act & Gun Ban Head to Supreme Court. In this episode we are joined by veteran Eddie Cornell whose bank account was frozen during the Freedom Convoy — and CCFR VP of Public Relations Tracey Wilson on the historic Supreme Court decision to hear the gun ban challenge, announced just hours ago today.

Two constitutional battles are now heading to the Supreme Court of Canada simultaneously. The federal government is asking the Supreme Court to overturn a ruling that found their use of the Emergencies Act during the Freedom Convoy unconstitutional and illegal. And today the Supreme Court agreed to hear the CCFR's landmark case challenging the government's use of an Order in Council to ban over 2500 types of legal firearms without parliamentary debate.

Eddie Cornell is a decorated Canadian veteran who had his bank accounts frozen without warning or judicial authorization for participating peacefully in the Freedom Convoy. On January 23 2024 Federal Court Justice Richard Mosley found the invocation of the Emergencies Act unconstitutional. On January 16 2026 the Federal Court of Appeal upheld that ruling. Two days ago on March 17 2026 the Carney government filed for leave to appeal to the Supreme Court of Canada. Two courts said it was unconstitutional. Carney is still fighting to defend it.

Tracey Wilson from the CCFR joins us at 7:30PM EST with breaking news — the Supreme Court of Canada granted leave this morning to hear the CCFR's challenge to the federal firearms ban. At the heart of this case is a fundamental question of executive authority — can the government bypass Parliament and ban over 2500 types of legal firearms through an Order in Council? Can cabinet rule by regulation? Do Canadians have constitutional protection over lawful property?

Two cases. Two veterans of the legal fight for Canadian rights. One historic night.

Is this about protecting Canadians — or a government that refuses to accept constitutional limits on its own power?

    Watch and decide for yourself.

  • He Shot An Armed Intruder In His Home — Police Says NO CHARGES | NFA's Blair Hagen + Shawn Buckley
    Mar 19 2026

He Shot An Armed Intruder In His Home — Police Says NO CHARGES. In this episode, we speak with NFA Executive VP Blair Hagen about the Vaughan home invasion where a legal gun owner shot an armed intruder — and police laid no charges. Then lawyer and founder of the Natural Health Product Protection Association Shawn Buckley joins us to break down Bill C-224 and why it matters to every Canadian.

A Vaughan homeowner discharged his legally owned firearm on three-armed home invaders in the early hours of March 17th 2026. One suspect was shot and later identified at hospital. The alleged intruder Trestin Cassanova-Alman — 24 years old, known to multiple police agencies, wanted for numerous violent offences and linked to Project Wrangler, a joint forces operation dismantling a violent criminal group operating across Ontario and Quebec — was charged with Robbery with a Firearm. The homeowner faces no charges. Legal self-defense in Canada just sent a message.

Is this Canada's castle law moment? We ask NFA Executive VP Blair Hagen what legal self-defense in Canada actually means, why police laid no charges, and whether the Lindsay Ontario case withdrawal last month signals a shift in how self-defense in Canada is being applied for legal gun owners.

Then Shawn Buckley joins us on Bill C-224 — the bill that could finally fix what went wrong in 2004 when natural health products in Canada were reclassified as drugs. Essential nutrients. Vitamins. Natural remedies. Treated like dangerous chemicals. Before 2004 they were food. Bill C-224 wants to take them back there.

Is this about protecting Canadians — or controlling what they eat, what they take and how they defend their families?

    Watch and decide for yourself.

  • IT HAS BEGUN: Police Visits for Posts in Canada?! Teachers Fired for Beliefs | Matt Alexander
    Mar 18 2026

IT HAS BEGUN: Police visits for posts in Canada are no longer a theory. In this episode, we break down real cases of police visits over social media posts in Canada and speak with Matt Alexander about teachers fired for beliefs.

A viral video shows a Canadian woman receiving a police visit over her online posts — but this isn’t new. Across Canada, individuals have been arrested, charged, and even sentenced over what they post online. We examine cases from North Bay, PEI, and Saskatoon involving police visits for posts in Canada, hate speech charges, and online speech laws.

Then we are joined by Matt Alexander, who, along with his wife, was fired from teaching for refusing to affirm LGBTQ policies. Their son, Josh Alexander, was removed from school after speaking out on women’s spaces. This raises serious questions about teachers fired for beliefs in Canada, freedom of expression, and Charter rights.

With legislation like Bill C-2, C-8, C-9, C-12, C-16, C-22, and the proposed Bill C-63, many Canadians are asking: is this the direction Canada is heading?

Is this about protecting people — or controlling speech?

    Watch and decide for yourself.
