    Owen has been connecting families with local farmers and real food, and through that mission he introduced me to Jessica—what we jokingly call the “lunch lady,” but the truth is she’s running an entire school food program and fighting to get real, nutrient-dense food into kids’ lunches.

    What we uncovered in this conversation is both eye-opening and inspiring. We talk about the processed ingredients and chemical-laden foods still being served in many public schools, why the current system is so broken, and the uphill battle people like Jessica face when trying to replace junk food with fresh food from local farms.
