• Ep. 110 - The Way Of The Jedi: How Meditation Helps Us Reach New Spiritual Heights
    Mar 19 2026

Welcome back to this week's episode of Trudge Report. Thank you for supporting the show. We kick things off going around the horn. Work trips from Marco Island, FL to Dallas, Tx. Strange weather swings to low budget horror films to that time in Florida when the grass grows tall seemingly overnight. We do have a brief but important conversation about the role of leadership in the workplace and therefore, other places in life. The challenges and benefits of managing people but not being the “Director."

The recovery segment is all about meditation and quiet time. The importance of just making sure we set that time aside during the day to spend quiet quality time with our Higher Powers. What conscious contact really means and how quickly things can begin to go wrong if we get "off the beam.” Each of us discuss the different formats and methods we have used over the years, the struggles and challenges incorporating this practice in early sobriety, and how it has evolved for us in time. The main lesson is simple, JUST DO IT.

  • Ep. 109 - The Simple Daily Steps to Staying Fully Recovered
    Mar 12 2026

Hello everyone and welcome back to another episode of Trudge Report. We thank you for being with us and supporting the show. We begin by giving a big shout out to Producer Janine and her husband Roy who have been sick for a few weeks. Janine needs to hurry back because the inmates are running the asylum. We go around the horn and give quick life updates including wedding venues, sick children, March Madness, children's birthday parties, and rants on daylight savings. We also share a few non-political thoughts and viewpoints on the current state of world affairs.

We dive into the recovery topic and it is all about continuing to set right any new mistakes as we go along in our sobriety and in our life. How we promptly, and without regret, admit our faults and try not to continue making the same mistakes over and over again. We have done our best to make past misdeeds right and make restitution to those harm, now we continue to try to put these new and proven spiritual principles to work in our daily lives.

  • Ep. 108 - Recovery Group Roulette Or Etiquette & The Well Placed F Bomb
    Mar 5 2026

Welcome back to another episode of Trudge Report. Thank you for being here with us. This week's episode is all about etiquette at our recovery groups and how to comport ourselves inside and outside the rooms of recovery. The question of whether it is ok to swear in meetings or share on something that is off topic? How do we set the example for newer people or for people that have not been shown the path that we have. Is the path we have chosen even the right one or the only one? We discuss the challenges and struggles of entering into a new recovery community after moving to a new state and away from what is comfortable and familiar. Stick around for the end of the show because we have a heart wrenching and at the same time, uplifting, story to read about a tattoo artist who is helping people in recovery each and every day.

Because addiction isn’t about the day someone relapses. It’s about all the days they didn’t. -A tattoo artist-

  • Ep. 107 - Walking It Back: Living Amends in Real Life
    Feb 26 2026

Hello everyone and welcome to another episode of Trudge Report. In the around the horn segment we touch on everything from the Cleveland Cavaliers to Aliens, to “Redacted Files." Danny and Shawn give some youth sports updates for our kids, Greg has a few quick wedding planning updates, and Corey asks for prayers for a close family member having some health struggles.

Before we dive into the recovery segment, Corey and Shawn share their experience at Papa Ron Scott's memorial service over the weekend, Shawn's first mentor. Even though we mourn his loss, what a wonderful thing to be a part of an event like that, seeing old friends, and sharing in the memories. It is a good reminder of what living this way of life actually looks like in practice.

The recovery segment this week is all about doing our best at a fearless attempt to right the wrongs we have created over the years. Mainly in our drinking and using days, but certainly it applies to sober times as well. We discussed the difference between saying sorry and actually making amends. We touch on the living amends as well as the financial amends. We hope you enjoy.

One more thing. GO TEAM USA 🇺🇸

  • Ep. 106 - The Trudge Crew welcomes Elizabeth Everett, host of Grace in the Breaking Podcast
    Feb 19 2026

Hello everyone. We kick things off with some lighter life updates, including Corey surviving a truly brutal Valentine’s Day restaurant experience, Danny P celebrating a big win with his eighth grade bball team, and Greg nearly blowing off his eyebrows while grilling steaks. Then we pivot into the main recovery segment with our guest Elizabeth Everett, who shares how a childhood full of secrets, isolation, trauma, and addiction shaped what came next, and how chasing acceptance sent her down a fast, dangerous road. She walks us through what finally changed, what surrender looked like in real life, and the daily practices that keep her grounded now. The takeaway is simple: you don’t heal alone, and that one “small compromise” can grow fast if you let it. If you’re tired of spinning your wheels, community and honesty matter more than willpower.

  • Ep. 105 - Mending Fences: Repairing Our Wreckage Regardless of Consequence
    Feb 12 2026

Hello everyone and welcome back to another episode of Trudge Report. This week we go around the horn and Dan shares his experience with his son over the weekend at Madison square garden for the UConn v St John's game. Greg gives us an update on wedding planning and Corey tells us how his new job is going and how he has finally gotten back into writing and playing music. Danny wins the rental car lottery, or at least so we think.

The recovery segment is all about beginning to make a list of people we have hurt. We shift from identifying the resentments, fears, and harms done, to actually beginning to put together a plan of action on how we can attempt to make these situations right and clean up our side of the street. We get honest about the ones we dread, the ones we delay, and the moments where doing the right thing might come with real consequences. Freedom may cost something initially but holding on to these is more expensive in the long run.

  • Ep. 104 - When It Starts To Feel Like Fresh Air Again: Exercising Humility Without Becoming a Doormat
    Feb 5 2026

Join us this week as we trudge through the cold. 16 inches of snow for the Ohio boys and frost on the cars for the Florida boys. We celebrate Corey‘s daughter‘s birthday and the fact that he would make the world‘s worst parking attendant. Corey also starts a new job this week so we wish him well in that endeavor. A big shout out to producer Janine with the grand opening of her new studio and a wonderful kickoff event that Corey and Shawn attended. Another shout-out to Tom and Angela and all the Stella Mix crew behind the scenes. Plus super bowl discussion and prediction at the very end of the show.

During the recovery segment we extend the conversation about defects of character and shortcomings. We explain, a little more, the difference between the two, but how they are interchangeable. We talk about some of the character flaws in our makeup that we might still like to hold on to. We discuss humility versus humiliation and the fact that these defects don't all go away immediately. Even when we are truly ready. Plus, Corey talks about how good it is to breathe fresh air again.

  • Ep. 103 - Defects of Character: Are They Who I Am or What God Needs to Remove?
    Jan 29 2026

Join Trudge Report this week as the Ohio boys are shoveling snow while the Florida boys are soaking up 85° sunny weather. We kick things off with a quick check in on the winter storm to make sure Greg and Dan are okay. Corey has two quick rants. One about the evolution of American school snow days and the other about too many school fundraisers.

The recovery segment surrounds our defects of character. We have just recently uncovered most or all of these defects as we have gone through the inventory process, written things down, and discussed with a trusted person. Now, we discuss the difference between personality traits and character flaws and how these defects can be cast out. Can we remove our own defects of character or is it only by the One who has all Power?

“A shortcoming is like a flat tire. A character defect is like driving on it.” -Unknown-
