Why is a good website important?
- Drive business
- You own the content and aren’t relying on other companies/social media/etc
What are the pieces that should make a website?
- Home page - think of it as your first chance to capture attention. To get visitors to go further into your site for info.
- About Us - a place to introduce yourself and your team. Maybe share more about your mission/vision or Unique Value Proposition (UVP is a clear statement that describes the benefit of your offer, how you solve your customer's needs and what distinguishes you from the competition)
- Services - Ideally, a page for each service is best, but to get started, and especially if you don’t have enough content from the start, getting a page that lists all your services helps to get the visitor to understand what you offer and gives you a chance to state the processes or anything unique in how you perform your service
- Blog - This is great for building trust and authority. This section allows you to share your knowledge, tips, tricks, or other useful information that a prospect might be interested in or searching for. This is especially useful for SEO.
- Contact info: location if brick and mortar, phone, email, etc
- Hours of operation
- Entertainment component
- Education component
Free/DIY options
- Building your own website
- What’s most important to include in a DIY situation
