Author's Nightmare

Redacle is the cold, unforgiving setting for Chronicles of Destiny, Bernard, Kehinde, and Cádo's successful grimdark novel. But when the coauthors find themselves its three newest adventurers—trapped in the perilous landscape of their own creation—they realize that not all is as they intended. With their story gone rogue and filling in plot holes the authors couldn't have imagined, the three must learn how to level up, allocate skill points, and use their class abilities to endure a world filled with deadly foes.

Still stuck in the world of their novel, Shango, Solitaire, and Beam have worked their way through hordes of goblins, thieves, and undead to become Redacle's premier mercenary team. With their debts cleared, the three boys join the kingdom's arena tournament to go toe-to-toe with the best fighters in all of Redacle and grind skill points.

During their brief time in Redacle, the formerly weak, frightened, altogether unimpressive Shango, Solitaire, and Beam have developed into capable mercenaries. They now find themselves commanding armies, cutting through enemies, and negotiating war chests. None of it would be possible without Solitaire's weapons-making skills. Guns, cannons, bombs, and advanced armor; in the grimdark fantasy world of their imagination, these tools have given the trio a leg up. But their power hasn't gone unnoticed—or unchecked.
