Cat Sitter

Cat, a 12-year-old, takes on a different cat-sitting job. Each month Cat's teacher teaches the class a different poetry style. In this charming first book, Cat is asked to watch a neighbor's Siamese cat named Percy. Percy is usually the most perfectly behaved cat, but while on duty, Cat notices that Percy is not acting like himself and the destruction he leaves behind makes Cat wonder if she will ever get any mercy. In this book Cat and the listener learn to write a Haiku poem.

Cat is taking care of a Black Bombay cat. A school boy taunts her that Black Bombay cats are cursed, and to watch out since it is Halloween time. When bad luck continues to strike Cat, she begins to worry that maybe there really is a curse.
