Firewing Investigations follows dragon shifter PJ Norris as he searches the land newly freed from an evil queen for more of his kind. Along with his best friend Grant, and a brand new amulet that unleashes the dragon in his mind, PJ sets off on a magical, cozy adventure – solving a few magical mysteries along the way.

After flunking out of university, PJ Norris has been given a new quest: search a world newly-freed from an evil queen for more dragon shifters like himself. Along with his best friend Grant, they set out with nothing but an amulet and PJ's burgeoning dragon senses to guide them. The first stop is a former queenside stronghold of Gilramore, where townsfolk are being bothered by swarms of butterflies. The mayor and townsfolk swear there's no one with magic in their midst, but as PJ uncovers more of their secrets, he realizes the queen's grip might've not been as strong as advertised.

PJ Norris continues his search for more dragon shifters and arrives in the town of Padstow, a town full of magic-mining gnomes and the humans who've built an economy around catering to them. So when the mine experiences magical surge that throws the town into a frenzy, Firewing Investigations is hired to look into it in hopes they'll discover a dragon shifter.

PJ Norris continues his trek around Kingscountry in search of more dragon shifters. He and his best friend Grant arrive in the town of Cheshireville, which had a nearby secret magical enclave that safely hid creatures during the reign of the evil queen. But all is not well in the small town: a monstrous creature has been frightening the citizenry at night, and Firewing Investigations is hired to get to the bottom of things. PJ hopes this is the dragon shifter he's been searching for, but as he's learned, anything is possible in a magical town.
