Aikos is the best at what he does, the most skilled and coveted acolyte of Aphrodite, and he knows it. But when his beauty and allure attract the attention of the gods themselves, his ascension to courtesan takes a turn he never expected: straight to Olympus.

Dax was always second best among the acolytes of Aphrodite, destined to remain in the shadow of his friend and rival, Aikos, when the time came for them to ascend as courtesans. But while Aikos sought freedom to serve many and no one through his favored tenet of their goddess—desire—Dax seeks another domain. Love. The god Apollo is broken and lonely after countless losses of mortal lovers, thinking his heart beyond repair. Or he did, until Aikos led him to a prophecy of a possibly mended future.

Oli is not happy with his lot in life as a thrall, a slave to the noble family he has served since birth. If he believed in the old gods, he would curse them to their faces that a thrall is the most he could ever be. Few even worship the gods anymore, yet Oli is tasked with tending to their altar at the foot of the oldest tree in the nearby wood—where he is happy to defile it whenever the noble family's son wants him on his knees. After his most recent tryst, however, he learns how real the gods are.
