The Bethlem hospital for the mentally insane has existed since the year 1244. Originally an alms house for Holy Land Crusaders, it became a dumping ground for the incurably insane. The bestial care became public entertainment in the Victorian era, conditions so horrendous that it earned the nickname of ‘Bedlam’.

The Yesterdays of Crete, is designed to be an easy listen snapshot of this beautiful and now highly popular tourist island. The history of human occupation in Crete spans back for more than 130,000 years and at a time it was the prime source of Greek mythology through the periods of King Minos, the Minotaur and the Labyrinth. The island has been occupied by the Mycenaean's, Romans, Venetians, Ottomans and Nazi Germany to mention but a few.

The Atlantic Slave Trade was one of the least humane acts that man has yet contrived in the pursuit of profit. What is possibly worse is that the actions of stealing human beings to work under duress for others was not only condoned by the greedy business men of Europe and the Americas, but also by the African kings who happily sold off their own citizens in order to feather their already comfortable nests.
