So the Ulleran challenge begins, with the rantings of a prophet and a seemingly incidental street riot. In the far future, The Company has taken up the franchise for planet Uller and are employing the saurian natives. However, some native Ulleran leaders don't like how life is changing and seek to destroy the human company agents. There are desperate times ahead for the humans on Uller, with no one coming to help, they're surrounded and cut off.

The story unfolds around a conflict between corrupt local politicians and the equivalent of earthly whale hunters. A robust and action-packed sci-fi tale by H. Beam Piper, published in 1961.

"The Cosmic Computer" is a sci-fi novel by H. Beam Piper, published in 1963. Conn Maxwell, our hero, is returning from Terra to his poverty-stricken home planet of Poictesme, a.k.a "The Junkyard Planet", with news of the potential whereabouts of Merlin, a military super-computer said to have been dumped there after the last war. The people of Poictesme hope to find the super-computer, perhaps their only hope out of poverty. Will everything go according to plan and wishes, though?
