When graphic designer Remi Painter gets a freelance logo design job, he is initially thrilled. But when his logo specifications include suspicious requirements and a warning that any talk of the matter will precede dire consequences, Remi is thrust into a tireless search for clues, which leads to signs of illegal inter-corporate ties and dangerous motives of global proportions. Will Remi survive the search or will his design ultimately kill?

After a brief vacation, graphic designer Remi Painter starts working for the Hunger House, a homeless shelter in downtown York, Pennsylvania, refining their website under a tight deadline for chump change and feeding the community in his off time. But when he finds remnants of human remains in a dumpster behind the nonprofit headquarters after serving, Remi's random observation is called into question.

After years behind bars, Thor resolves to get out. But as the latest inmate to attempt the most recent high profile prison break from PA’s York County Prison, he, once again, has to face his curse. Just feet from freedom, he has an epileptic seizure and is caught by the guards. Even so, in the ensuing days, he refuses to give up information regarding the design to escape.

Freelance graphic designer Remi Painter is fresh off of another close brush with death. To re-focus, he enters a design contest that promises some notice and a cash award. He shows to the event, where he expects to receive the coveted honor. Remi hopes that his story of persistence in the field and quality competition, despite his condition, epilepsy, will inspire those in attendance. Just as Remi is preparing to accept his honor and tell his story, however, he has one of the worst seizures he's ever had.

Barely escaping a heavy seizure during a local bomb scare in York, Pa, along with his friends, the Houstons and Jethro Silva, graphic designer Remi Painter allows himself some time to recover and enjoy his newly-acquired design honor before pursuing more freelance work. Just when Remi deems himself ready, however, Ray Townsend, old friend and a force to be reckoned with in the national fantasy football arena, shows an emotional wreck, accused of murdering a fantasy teammate over a bad trade.

Looking back on his career, freelance graphic designer Remi Painter is proud of his many contributions. There are occasional days, however, where he wonders how life without epilepsy might have gone. Whether it would have been quite the fight. For that matter, whether it is time to try something new. What if a treatment for epilepsy already exists out there somewhere? It's an innocent question, a deep longing for Remi and many others with seizures. Until the day he happens upon a remedy no one is meant to discover.
