The Twits Chronicles

The Twits Chronicles series follows the adventures of Cyril Chippington-Smythe and his mechanical valet, Bentley, as they navigate a dystopian world in search of love and meaning. Anthology #1 contains the full text of: Twits in Love, Twits in Peril, and Twits Abroad, plus two previously unpublished short stories.

Cyril Chippington-Smythe, the world's richest man, awakens from a drunken stupor to find that he may have engaged himself to the horrifyingly toothy Alice Witherspoon. His mechanical manservant, Bentley, concocts a plot to free his master from any possible entanglements, but Alice has more than matrimony on her mind and may destroy civilization as we know it.

"Those who know me will tell you I have a weakness for gambling. My valet, Bentley, has often had to speak to me about it. Bentley, however was at home." Cyril's old friends Ford and Lincoln wager that he can't survive living like an average citizen for a week. Cyril attempts to blend in with the crush of humanity but without Bentley's help he soon finds himself embroiled in one misunderstanding after another.

When Aunt Hypatia arrives with the horrifying Euphonia Gumboot in tow, Bentley suggests an escape to New York in the company dirigible. Alas, the cat finds its way out of the bag and the dirigible becomes a kind of flying ark filled with friends, enemies... and Miss Gumboot. It will be a miracle if Cyril returns from America unbetrothed!

The Twits Chronicles is a humorous steampunk series in which the world's richest man, Cyril Chippington-Smythe and his mechanical valet, Bentley, navigate a dystopian world in search of love and meaning. This is anthology No. 2, containing books 4 through 6 of the series.

Binky, is in love again. The object of his affection is Anjelica De Souza Kleinhoffer- the well-known spiritual guide and philanthropist. Cyril is determined to help him win the lady. Bentley, however, is having a snit and Cyril must devise a plot without his help. This naturally leads to disaster as we discover that Anjelica is not exactly what she seems.

Cyril and Binky are in the soup again. They are forced to flee in Cheeseworth's land yacht, which becomes a seething cauldron of family and friends. Cyril decides to use this opportunity to go on a hunt for something he has long hungered for. Alas, their quest leads them into mortal danger! Can Bentley save them one more time?

On the one day of the year when Bentley returns to the factory for a tune-up, Cyril's Aunt Hypatia enlists him in a complex scheme. All is not as it seems, however- there are plots within plots- which all come to a head within the terrifying twists of The Labyrinth!
