I’m just supposed to be passing through town. I’m in a hurry to put some much-needed distance between me and my hometown, and I may have been speeding. So, I guess the sheriff has a good reason to pull me over. But he definitely doesn’t have a reason to arrest me.

Being the Alpha's daughter means living under a microscope—every move, every word, every breath is judged. I’m suffocating in the role I never chose and desperate for an escape. So when my father sends me on a secret mission to spy on the Twisted Oak Pack, I jump at the chance to experience some freedom. But my assignment doesn’t go as planned.

I’ve got two missions: prove to Emerson that I’m not the jerk she thinks I am, and show her she’s safe with me—because someone’s targeting her, and I won’t let anyone hurt my mate.

I haven’t taken a vacation in years, and I’m excited to finally take a break and relax for a bit. Or I was. When I finally get to Twisted Oak though, I find out that the cabin I rented was partially damaged in a recent fire and is still in the process of being fixed. Now I’m stuck in this small town with nowhere to stay, and my dream vacation is turning into a nightmare.

I can’t wait to get out of this freaking town. My friend, Dillon, and I have been social pariahs pretty much our whole lives after an incident when we were kids, and we’re both ready to start over fresh somewhere new. So, as soon as we turn eighteen, we hit the road. Unfortunately for us, we don’t make it very far.

The last thing I remember is being excited to get out of our small hometown with my best friend, Mabel. Then everything went black. I wake up in the hospital with a splitting headache and a strange bite mark on my neck. A bite mark I know I didn’t get in the car accident.
