I loved the story & the performance of the book was really good. my biggest complaint is the incorrect chapters. I like to switch between Kindle book and audible depending on what I'm doing. Unfortunately, this was not easy because of the chapters. The actual book only has 21 chapters, where as the audio has 30. The audio's chapters start in the middle of book chapters. So you can't easily read the Kindle book then switch to audio at the end of a chapter.

I so wish Mary Jane Wells would take in this series! It is a great story, but the narrator sets the tone and this narrator not only mispronounces several words including grimace, but drones on in a monotone fashion that drags down the story. Great plot, great series…terrible narration. It would be worth re-recording!

This is a great story, but the narration is trying

Featuring Aleisha Carrington, “just a girl who can’t say no.” I mean really, the girl is just a pushover. And Tony Blake, who never takes no for an answer.
Read this at 1.2x speed to make Jill Tanner more bearable.
Having read everything, Stephanie Laurens ever wrote, I’m picking up on patterns. Everybody’s lungs are seizing left and right. She often uses two words when she can’t decide between the two, e.g., licked and lathed or demanding, commanding.
Shall I go on re-reading this series? Maybe I’ll jump to #7 to get a different reader.

Well written story with interesting heroine and hero, but I had to force myself to listen. The narrator is just not for me and I wish the author would limit her use of the word, ‘grimace’, especially because it is pronounced incorrectly. I’m sure the narrator can do a commendable job with different material.

Enjoyable story, but

I loved this book. It kept you guessing for the most part and the pace wasn't too fast wasn't too slow. The love story was nice and the plot kept along with it.

LOVE IT!
