Erotic contemporary romance - 18+ for descriptive love scenes and language

Sparks fly...lines blur...and hearts break

Alexander Avery is rich, powerful, and the sexiest man Angeline Hemming has ever laid eyes on: a man like every woman dreams about. Angel is not immune to his sensual and ruthless pursuit, and Alex is intoxicated by the beautiful doctor - overwhelmed with desire like he's never known.

As the profiling case Angel is working on gets more and more dangerous, Alex finds himself filled with unfamiliar panic and emotional turmoil; his need to protect her goes against Angel's adamant insistence that she doesn't need his help. He isn't a man to sit on the sidelines when the woman he's obsessed with is threatened, so he takes control to protect her without telling her of his plans.

Angel's fortitude is shaken when her stalker invades not only her personal life but also those close to her...even when that someone is powerful and seemingly untouchable. Professional ethics insist she keeps the details of her work away from her lover, even as their newfound closeness has her yearning to confide in him. But as Angel's quest to protect her heart from Alex's undeniable pull equals her need to keep him out of a dangerous situation, circumstances dictate a huge decision - which could have detrimental and irreversible consequences for them both.

When danger threatens and jealousy reaches the boiling point, lies will be told, and secrets will be kept.... Even with the best intentions and the most undeniable connection, the deepest of loves will be tested.

This is the second title in the series, and I didn't read the first story. The story started as a continuation of the first book. I was confused at first, but was able to figure out the characters, ongoing plot, etc. I thought because of the rough start I thought I would hate the story, but I found myself really into the story. I am unsure if, what I feel was, a loose end will be resolved in the third book.

Overall I love this book! I knew I would love it, romance is always awesome, but the lead female character Angel is really annoying!
The annoying thing is that there are so many women out there that really psych themselves up for more trouble than they need to. There were so many times Alex approved...... in his actions that he was serious about her, that she was different, that he was not going anywhere, but Angel just wouldn't accept it.
I know she is a smart independent woman, but sometimes we are so smart we can really be idiots when it comes to matters of the heart. If Alex were not so determined in such a fighter, he would have given up a long time ago. Of course the readers are happy that he didn't, most of us want a happy ending, but it was really nerve-racking listening to her whining. And just to be clear, I am talking about the character not the narrator!
So, I love the book and I am very excited to hear the next one, but I just wanted to express my frustrations about angel lol.

great but the lead woman is a little Annoying LOL!

I found the vocal exaggerations like moaning and screaming to be very awkward sounding.

The storyline at the end of the book almost made me put the book down with the frustration of the "off and on" emotions.

It was difficult to accept that the female protagonist was a professional psychologist or sociologist when her actions were so irrational and final. She would just sever the relationship rather than work through the issues. It took away from her credibility for me and I do understand that her backstory contributed to it.

I do love the storyline though and I loved the connection between the 2 protagonists. The positive relaxed scenes were a joy to read as the description of their connection was excellent. I have every intention of reading the 3rd book!

Ups and downs for me

What does the narrators bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I really enjoyed the narration and it brought the story to life.

Any additional comments?

I really enjoyed the series and loved the dual narration. This was the first book I heard with dual narration and it was very enjoyable.

Loved the dual narration!

I just love these books. I hate the dam suspense ,the drama, drives me crazy. But great reads. I also love the way these books were narrated, no fake boys voices or girls voices. Love Zachary Webber’s voice
