Perfect amount of storyline and plot mixed with spice. Definitely prepare yourself for a dark plot full of abuse but as a survivor myself, I thought the author did a great job writing about the thought process of someone going through abuse and I didn’t feel triggered by reading it. If anything, it’s helpful to read a story like this because it helps heal me a little every time I remember that I’m not alone and that other people have gone through similar things.

This book was absolutely amazing. Jacob Morgan is one of my fave male narrators and he helped bring this story to life. The writing was exquisite. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. I felt so many emotions during this, anger, sadness, hope, lust. It was definitely less spicy than I was expecting, but my god, I was hooked on every word. H.D. Carlton is definitely becoming one of my favorite authors! Highly recommend.

Tough One

This story is not for the faint of heart! Lots of triggers of abuse and violence. Narration is wonderful. Does come to a HEA though.

I am SOO glad I stuck with this story!

It was a close one for me, I almost put this down deciding to DNF - and I’m so glad I didn’t. After River finds her footing in this book it turned around and continued to be a great read/listen. If you’re contemplating it, push through and finish. You won’t be disappointed.

This story is dark, yet shines light on so many peoples truths.

The narration was perfection. Jacob Morgan was the reason I even started listening since this isnt a usual genre read of mine.

This book kept me on the edge of my seat.
The emotions i went through while listening... GAH!
