The first thing you need to know about this book by Coral Alejandra Moore is that it's 80% sex. However, don't let that stop you from picking up this jewel. HtR is a tale of survivors finding their way out of their dark lives. The whole cast was abused physically, psychologically, and some even sexually by one demon that's out of the picture at the start of the book (thankfully). So, the novel is raw in many instances, but it's also funny and steamy af.

The characters are well developed, and the pace was kinda quick despite all the sex 🤭. But my favorite thing about the novel, besides the characters, was the worldbuilding. I found myself highlighting all the bits and even leaving comments for future references as I continue the trilogy.

As for the sex scenes: they're explicit and interesting. Why interesting? Mari is a sex witch, and her magic not only feeds but also grows through sexual intercourse. Very interesting indeed.

All in all, Hers to Rule was an enjoyable read that made me laugh out loud and squirm with giddiness a lot.
