I love Lauren’s Slaycation series so much but I miss the humor in her more traditional dark romance stories.

It’s true that this story has nothing on some of her other books when it comes to darkness. However a lack of darkness doesn’t mean a lack of delicious depravity! Somehow this tiny 2hour book manages to have an actual plot as well as some seriously top notch smut! The story has been simplified and streamlined- less details, side characters and interactions. The focus is completely on the two main characters and their relationship; angst, anger, sexual tension, steam! Even with the minimal storyline the book was awesome. Nothing felt missing, forced, lacking or rushed. Both narrator’s did a pretty good job and plot was split more or less evenly between POVs. Honestly I can’t recommend enough. This is definitely one of those hits the spot listens. More than earned a place in my favorites list! Seriously go buy the book!
