The overall storyline I liked, and it has just enough steamy scenes. The narration did not fit the story, or characters at all!!!

While this story is rather short, it packs a wallop of passion, emotional conflict, and lifestyle challenges. Also a lot of heat. I have the entire series In my wish list and look forward to listening.
I gave the performance a 4 not because of the narrator’s performance but because of the sound editing and filtering. Throughout the entire reading, you can hear Ms. Dixon taking deep breaths before each long sentence, even to the degree that on two occasions you can hear her take sips of water.
So many times narrations are marred by lack of time spent on careful editing and I ask myself, didn’t anyone listen to this before it was released.
After a while, I got used to it and it did not take away as much from the experience as it could have.
I hope this problem is resolved with the next two books. 🤞
