Can fake dating the town's orc blacksmith turn into something real?

If I don't find a date for my grandmother's weekend birthday bash, my mother plans to set me up with the relative of a friend who has to be ninety. No thanks. On the spur of the moment, I ask the town's orc blacksmith I've been crushing on for months to go with me.

Gunner agrees, and before I know it, we're sneaking away from Grannie's bash to steal a few kisses. Finally, I'm getting to know this sweet, shy blacksmith I'd do almost anything to date for real.

After Grannie's weekend event ends, I figure I'll go back to admiring Gunner from afar. But it turns out he's no longer faking...

Orc Me Baby One More Time is part of the Monsterville, USA series. Beware: Don't listen unless you enjoy shenanigans with a cinnamon roll orc blacksmith.

The female accent is horrifying. Is it Rhode Island? Is it Boston? Why? It’s not even relevant to the story. Cute story but no one has ever said, “oh what’s a sexy provincial New England accent before”😑.

Why the accent?

Great story, the only sad thing is that it was too short.
Loved the characters, the actors were magnificent.

sweet sexy love story

I think for me the story was 4 stars, I am not always a fan of the insta-love trope but I thought this MMC was endearing and so unsure of himself it was so adorable. I liked how he jumped right at the chance to be a fake boyfriend for our FMC, and then when he finally let loose, his aura and sexy side came to play!

I liked the FMC EXCEPT her accent was atrocious. I wasn't sure why she was all of a sudden having a harsh Boston accent is what I could guess? There was no indication in book 1 about others having those accents and with her grandma living in the surrounding area I assume the setting was somewhere in the NE? I just got so confused and the accent really threw me. I am from the Mid-Atlantic but I went to school up north with a lot from that area and this was a pretty thick accent and again no other characters really had those in book 1 or 2. That really brought my rating down unfortunately to a 3 stars. It just kept taking me out of the story.

I went on to listen to a couple more from the series and I think it improves from this one so that is good. Trying not to listen to them all at once and be overloaded haha. If you are looking for a light-hearted monster small-town romance this is good but maybe better not to listen on audio because that wasn't the greatest. I like this narrator in other books but not sure what the author provided them, just wasn't my cup of tea.

Loved granny’s openness. Her profession made me laugh. Wonder which monster would snatch her heart.

Excellant story. But why the awful female Boston accent? It ruined the story to a point. It never mentions a accent in the story so why? it really is that bad and there is no reason for it.

Story great. Female doesn't need a stupid accent.
