I read Raphael's book after Rocco's, which I read first, even though it was book 3 in the series... Raphael is not my favorite, though this is a dark romance, he was physically abusive to Ellie, hitting her with a belt that caused welts and broke the skin at one point... that's not a turn on, that's just disturbing, he gets off on her pain. No, so much no... he didn't really redeem himself until the end of the book, which took his wife almost killing Ellie before he finally let his walls down. I love the non con-dub con, birth control tampering, possessive, obsessed alpha psycho trope, but this one just fell flat, too much abusive behavior and not enough connection to the object of his obsession. Little Oliver with his baby brother Hudson is the best part of the story.

I dont think this was an actual romance although its definitely parading around as one. Youll enjoy it more if you can trick your brain into thinking anyone would willing accept the way the MMC treated the FMC. The ice cream scene gave me so much ick I had to FF. There was a HEA so....I'll give credit where credit is due. Also the duet narriation helped in spades.

this was absolutely filthy in the best way possible. Worth every penny. it was just as good as book 1 . hope we get another book. if you like daddy kink then this is the best book for you. mild 10% mafia action and 90% smut. the dirty talk was incredible. Great book
