This book is amazing. It’s probably the best book I’ve listened to all year. The beginning starts out really rough. Prepare yourself because this poor omega is getting abused left and right and her love interests really are villains and they do villainous things to her. But the cliffhanger!!!!! Omg! talk about teaching the readers to assume anything from past books!! Haha just make sure you read queen of diamonds first. I almost was going to write that you didn’t need to until the ending crashed in haha hats off to the author for this masterpiece of OV psycho goodness

The narrators did an excellent job. The jumping from present to past was a little jarring and at times added to the confusion. For the most part I enjoy the author’s stories so I went in knowing there would be twists and turns and misdirects. But something about this book didn’t feel quite flushed out. I plan to stick with the duet and read/listen to part two in hopes that everything becomes more clear.

I wasn't sure what to expect -- sugar coated "dark prince" characters, damsel FMCs that have glamorized poor mental health, and obvious villians maybe?

I'm only halfway through and this is so much better. SPOILER - It kicks off with her killing her 1st scent match (but don't worry no one actually likes him). The MCs are actually unstable and the dynamics are a fascinating read. This is psychologically dark and twisted in a more complex way, not a disney-dark way.
