From New York Times bestselling author Sandra Brown, Ricochet is a sultry Savannah thriller filled with murder, betrayal, and unexpected desire.

Detective Sergeant Duncan Hatcher is called to Judge Cato Laird’s opulent mansion after the judge’s trophy wife, Elise, shoots a man she claims was a burglar. But Duncan suspects her story conceals far more.

Despite warnings—even from his partner—Duncan is increasingly drawn to Elise, a woman whose beauty and secrets pull him into a dangerous investigation. Elise privately shares a shocking claim about Judge Laird’s involvement in a deadly conspiracy. Only as Duncan unravels the truth does he realize it may involve his nemesis, crime lord Robert Savich.

When Elise disappears, Duncan’s sense of duty and attraction collide. With new bodies turning up and loyalties shifting, he must decide what—and whom—to trust. Can he protect his career, his conscience—and the woman he wants most?

Ricochet blends steamy romantic suspense with high-stakes crime in Southern high society, offering twists, moral tension, and emotional heat set against Savannah’s haunting charm.©2006 Sandra Brown Management, Ltd. All rights reserved; (P)2006 Simon & Schuster Inc. All rights reserved.

I give this one a 3 star based purely on the enjoyment and suspense factor. You really could not tell who was the bad guy(s) until the very end. It is a typical Sandra Brown, with lots of plot intricacies (a la Envy), and lots of suspense. "Gripping" is appropriate; and naration is great. Somewhat unbelievable in substance and outcome; and some of the events are non-realistic (too fantastical). It is like she had to put these in to make the outcome work. But overall enjoyable read.

enjoyable; but short of her prior

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I found the story lack intrigue. I also thought the story kind of dragged rather than just getting to the point.

Okay, not great

The book/plot is good; keep one on your toes; like the book but the narrator is not that great..trying to immitate women's voices is not his forte...but would still recommend if one could overcome the narration of the book

Story good/narrator-mediocre
