James knows his relationship is falling apart, but he's not sure what to do about that fact. He's tried fixing it, but nothing works. James continues to spend time with Logan while battling between his head and his heart. I truly enjoy Aster's smooth and flowing style of writing. Combined with Larkfield’s soothing voice, it was a pleasure to listen to. While there aren't a lot of twists and turns and "oh snap" moments, the gradual development of James's and Logan's relationship still manages to hold up the story and kept me invested until the end. The occasional heat helped, too. Overall, a delightful story. Would recommend.

I read the paperback of Take His Place in late 2021, and was super excited to listen to it in audio form. (Original book review can be read at the paperback link.) This was my first audio book experience and I was completely blown away. Larkfield has an amazing voice and truly brought the characters, and the story, to life. I can easily say I’m hooked and look forward to more audio books in my future.
