My mother warned me not to go to the grove alone. But when the moon is full, heat stirs my blood...and it calls to them.

The Berserkers came in the night and took me. I woke up chained outside the monsters' cave.

They were warriors, cursed by a witch to become ravening beasts. They tell me I'm their mate. The prophecy says I am the only one who can heal them. But can I tame the beasts that haunt their minds...before it's too late?

Note: Taken by the Berserkers is a standalone, full-length MFM ménage romance starring two huge, dominant warriors who make it all about the woman. Listen to the whole best-selling Berserker saga to see what listeners are raving about...

I don't usually read this type of darker romance and I am not a fan of ware wolf' type of stories. Yet, this story line intrigued me, and the sample of the narrators voice was incredible. So I decided to try the first book. (this is the second) To my surprise, I love this series. This author is able to create a beautiful love story out of some dark components. My only complaint was sometimes, Sabin seemed like a pentuant child, but that was actually the point of the story. I would suggest reading/listening to the books in order. Please note, there is definately some darker and rough sex scences that might not appeal to everyone.

This is Maddox's (yes, that Maddox from the other books), Ragnvald, and Siobahn's story. She is just like her sister, able to calm the beasts inside the men. She and her younger sisters are kidnapped to help restore Ragnvald's pack. She eventually agrees so she can go home and return to her normal life. Her plans did not include falling for both warriors.

Great story. Looking forward to the next story. The narrator's voice is silky smooth and he sits a great job for all the characters.

Great addition

I really enjoyed listening to the narrator. He did a good job with the voices. I do suggest if you have the ebook, and you are a fast reader like I am, do not listen at the same time while reading. Just listen and enjoy. I will be listening to this one again.

Loved it especially the narrator's voice.

Overall this is a decent story but not as strong as some of the others in the series. I was not a fan of the punishment scenes. Robert Ross does a good job as narrator, the characters were easy to follow and distinguishable.

Decent Story Overall

I love Lee Savino's Berserker books. I've read them all and love them. They're ridiculously sexy with strong vivid characters who come alive in the hands of a master author. But when you add narration by a smokey Scottish accent, you have panty melting heat!
Robert Ross has a gloriously smooth burr that breathes life into the Berserker characters. Especially during the menage scenes. (The phrase "talk dirty to me" is apt.) The only problem I have with his performance is that it is sometimes hard to tell which Berserker is talking. I'd like a little more difference and definition in the character's voices. However, he still manages to bring all the emotions of the characters into play. You can feel Sabine's pain, especially during the final scenes.
I'll be the first to admit that you really need to read (or listen to) the books in order. This is not the first book in the series and if you jump into this one before the others, you may be a little lost. Brenna's story comes first, and if Robert Ross also narrates it, you really, really want to listen to it. But this story is the one I'm reviewing. The sex is hot, the story is gripping and intriguing, and it's so very well written and well narrated.

I love a strong heroine like Sabine
