A quick listen. Not your Nana's bodice ripper. The behaviour and actions of the characters are germane to the time.. Elswyth is pragmatic, but other times she bordered on seeming like she was a victim of Stockholm syndrome. Sets the backstory for more, as it ends with a cliffhanger.

Viking Thunder is a short story about a brave girl whose village is terrorized by Viking invaders, but the story can’t get past its sexually violent core. This poor girl gets repeatedly raped by multiple men in the course of this short story. How can anyone fall in love with a man who repeatedly rapes her and other women around her?

Reader beware. Contains multiple graphic rape scenes.

The narrator is actually very good.

No holding back due to not being ladylike and doing what we all want at some point and that is to Enjoy The Ride! This story has a great performer, and it pulls you in. As a person who loves historical fiction, this was completely up my alley. However, this is a listener beware. It is a story about Viking raping and pillaging a town and the after effects of it.

On the other hand, this story was super interesting. The characters were dynamic and interesting, the storyline seems very real to me, and the whole thing just pulls you in and suddenly you have listened to the whole story without realizing its been 90 minutes! I would definitely suggest this audiobook to anyone who loves history and a sexy story!
