A. Keith Carreiro, Ed.D. is the owner of Copper Beech Press and a distinguished multidisciplinary professional whose career encompasses roles as an author, speaker, consultant, educator, academic researcher, and musician. With expertise spanning education, literature, writing, public speaking, creativity, critical thinking, and music, Dr. Carreiro has devoted more than 30 years to academic research and over 50 years to teaching, from pre-kindergarten through postgraduate levels. His lifelong commitment to learning and creative development has shaped generations of students and inspired a global audience of readers and thinkers. Dr. Carreiro is a multi-award-winning author of "The Immortality Wars" (2019 to present) and "Send Down the Master in Person: Reflections on Adolf Eichmann" (2022). His writing also includes poetry and short stories published in anthologies by the Association of Rhode Island Authors, as well as a nonfiction essay featured in "Hearts in Suspension" (2016), authored by Stephen King and edited by Jim Bishop. His literary work is known for its intellectual depth, moral inquiry, and exploration of the human spirit. A classically trained guitarist, Dr. Carreiro has taught classical guitar since 1969 and performed as a solo concert artist throughout North and South America in the 1970s. He is a member of the adjunct faculty in the Department of English at Bridgewater State University, where he has integrated his artistic and academic passions. As a speaker, coach, and consultant, he provides guidance on creativity, critical thinking, and literary craft and artistry. His professional affiliations include membership in The Alliance of Independent Authors, the Association of Rhode Island Authors, Realm Makers, and the Cape Cod Writers Center. His international influence as a thought leader has been recognized through keynote presentations at the 2023 and 2025 International Dublin Writers’ Festival and the IV International Congress of Synesthesia, Science & Art at the University of Almeria in Granada, Spain. His work has earned widespread recognition. Dr. Carreiro was named Professional of the Year (2025) by Strathmore’s Who’s Who Worldwide and received formal recognition from the Massachusetts House of Representatives for his service on the Swansea School Committee. He is a multi-year honoree in Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers and a recipient of the 2024 Global Book Awards Silver Medal for Religious and Spiritual Fantasy. His literary achievements also earned him finalist honors for the 2024 Killer Nashville Silver Falchion Award for best Sci-Fi/Fantasy. Dr. Carreiro earned an Ed.M. (1982) and an Ed.D. (1992) in Teaching, Curriculum, and Learning Environments from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, as well as a B.A. (1971) in English from the University of Maine. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Dr. Carreiro is deeply involved with his community and personal passions. He enjoys reading, attending concerts and films, hiking, and spending meaningful time with his family, church, and being with his golden retriever, Blaise, as well as his Calico cat, Callie. Through his diverse body of work and lifelong dedication to teaching and creativity, he continues to inspire others to think deeply, act compassionately, and pursue excellence within their own genius and passionate endeavors.
