Hi – and thank you for checking out my author page! Here’s a quick catch up… I was born in Surrey, UK in 1958, moved to East Anglia in 2003 settling just outside King’s Lynn 4 years later where I lived for 14 years with my husband, 5 dogs and 6 cats. (Yes I know the dog/cat thing is a bit mad!) In 2021 however, the pull and beauty of the Norfolk Broads became too strong and along with my husband and furry family, I upped sticks and moved to a small Broadland village in North Norfolk. I’ve longed to live up near the Broads since my teens - it’s taken a few decades but I’ve finally managed it! Before writing crime fiction, I originally found some success in the 80’s and 90’s writing poetry, but inspiration for my debut novel ‘Blood List,’ came after Dr. Harold Shipman was arrested for murder in September 1998. A few years later my dark and deeply psychotic G.P. serial killer, Charlotte Peterson, and her hunter D.C.I. Harry Longbridge were born. The full story took its time to complete though as I fell victim to a long period of writer’s block about three quarters of the way through the first draft. It was an author friend who finally persuaded me to pull it out of the laptop and finish it, for which I’ll be eternally grateful, and it was published in October 2018. The sequel, 'Dead Girls Don't Cry,' set mainly in New York, was released in February 2020, the third in the D.C.I. Harry Longbridge series, 'The Delegate' - launched in January 2023, and book 4, 'Fire & Ice' came out in May 2025. So that's me . . . and apart from a husband and a mini zoo, I also have two adult sons, and an adorable mystery writing granddaughter - although at only 10 she won’t be reading any of my books anytime soon!
