SMITH MEMORIAL PLAYGROUND AND PLAYHOUSE (Arcadia, 2026), co-authored with Deborah Shine Valentine, traces the 125 year history of a unique and magical Philadelphia institution devoted to providing opportunities for play for all Philadelphia children. Anna has taught kindergarten, second grade, college and graduate students, and in her other life she creates and advocates for landscapes for play. She has raised two daughters in Philadelphia, where she lives with her husband and dogs, and she spends many weekends exploring the wilds of Pennsylvania.
