Anuradha D. Rajurkar is the award-winning author of American Betiya (Knopf), a YALSA Best Fiction Book, Bank Street Best Book, and named one of Cosmopolitan's Best 125 YA Novels of All Time. Raised in the Chicago area to South Asian immigrant parents, Anuradha earned two degrees from Northwestern University, and for many years had the joy of being a public school teacher by day, writer by night. Anuradha's fiction has appeared in short story collections Onward: 16 Climate Fiction Short Stories to Inspire Hope (Charlesbridge), and Home Has No Borders (HarperCollins). Her next novel, a gothic thriller, will soon release with Knopf. When she’s not writing or reading, you can find Anuradha exploring the shores of Lake Michigan, watching horror flicks with her family, or making mugs from clay. She lives in the Chicago area with her family, including a sweet, stubborn rescue pup named Cleo.
