He was born to a meager upbringing in a log cabin on the banks of the…kidding. I wrote a children’s book that became banned in schools for using the words butt and crack. I’ve roller-skated through a typhoon using a garbage bag as a sail and once electrocuted my sister with my favorite Christmas present. I have a bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies, an MBA from ITT Tech, and certifications in bioethics and world health from Harvard University, but the most important things I’ve learned while sitting at the bedside of people who are dying. I began my career as a hospice chaplain working in Southeast Ohio and spent years helping people reflect on life, confront mortality, and embrace a savior who is waiting for all of us with open arms. We all have a story we live out with sweet, tragic, funny, and profoundly moving parts. We have a story to be heard, a story to finish well, a story to understand. Much of my career has been helping people recognize the brilliant parts of their stories. I’ve decided to be the guy who brings along a flashlight as people tell their stories. I want to spotlight the good words written in bold on our inner framework by our Creator, words that somehow have been forgotten and gone unnoticed. God has written some big words inside us, etched them deeply into our being. Words, like forgiven and loved by our Creator, are our real bios. I can tell you about my childhood, that I’m a military brat who has lived all over the world. I'm currently an executive working in an incredible health system in Akron, Ohio. I can tell you about how I’ve spent years in a Christian band and how I love to speak and entertain crowds and if you ask me about my daughter or my wife, get comfy. I’m a longtime listener. I’m a forever storyteller and a writer shining a light on our internal design. The books I write will make you laugh, make you cry and make you think. As I share each book I've written I hope you will like them because I've written for you.
