Catherine Pierce served as the Poet Laureate of Mississippi from 2021-2025 and is the author of four books of poems, most recently Danger Days (Saturnalia Books, 2020). Two new books are forthcoming in 2026: a memoir, Foxes for Everybody, from Northwestern University Press, and a poetry collection, Dear Beast, from Saturnalia. Her work has been published widely, including in The Best American Poetry, the Pushcart Prize anthology, The New York Times, The Sun, The Nation, and The American Poetry Review. A recipient of fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Academy of American Poets, Pierce lives in Delaware with her family and runs Studio & Craft, a poetry community.
