With a background is sports and travel journalism, his 2021 best-selling In It For The Long Run explored his fascination in running long distances in lumpy places, mostly powered by tea. 2022's award-nominated We Can't Run Away From This exposed the running industry's surprisingly large contribution to the climate and ecological emergency. 2026's Run Forever is a guide to running strongly through middle age, a mixture of science, case studies and training advice. The father of two is also a co-founder of The Green Runners and charity Into Ultra and has represented GB in ultramarathon running. He has contributed to The Guardian, Telegraph, Runner's World, Lonely Planet, Rough Guides, FourFourTwo, When Saturday Comes and numerous other sports, travel and outdoor publications.
