Danny Williams is a British science fiction and fantasy author whose work explores the intersection of systems, power, and unintended consequences. Drawing on over twenty years in data analytics and database management, he writes worlds where magic behaves like code, empires are built on versioned truths, and fixing one problem often creates three more. Diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 42, Danny began writing as a way to give structure to the many stories that had long existed in his head. What started as a personal outlet quickly became a creative focus—transforming racing ideas, fragmented worlds, and persistent “what if?” questions into fully realised narratives. His neurodivergence shapes both how he builds worlds and how he tells stories, favouring clear systems, layered continuity, and moments of unexpected humour amid chaos. His Arcane Release Notes series approaches fantasy through a technical lens—complete with patch notes, legacy bugs, and human error—while the Berrek saga offers a more serious, character-driven examination of exile, cultural erasure, and the cost of reclaiming truth. Danny’s writing balances structure with imagination, reflecting a mind that thrives on both rules and creative freedom. When he’s not at the keyboard, he enjoys working with wood, making things with his hands, and escaping outdoors to reset and recharge.
